It consists of a vat, impeller, drive mechanism and hood etc. There are fixed blades in the vat. Rejects drop in the vat from its feeding opening on the top. When the impeller rotates, the mixture of rejects and water is drawn into the center axis and flung out with high speed by impeller,and therefore produce intensified turbulent flow and circulation. Due to different flow speed and tear in pulp happened at impeller vane resulting in an intensive internal friction and kneading effect, the reject stock is disintegrated and fiberized. Kneading and friction effect between impeller and screen plate further fiberize the shives and accepts fiber passes
through screen slots. Retained rejects and heavy particles by screen plate is flung against vat wall and dropped into a collecting pot which is periodically emptied.
